The film will finally be released in select theaters on January 28, 2022. Great news. I was personally underwhelmed by the film back when I saw it via screener back in late 2020, but that doesn’t even matter. “Rifkin’s Festival” is Allen’s 50th film as a director. It was shot in San Sebastian, Spain and stars Christoph Waltz, Gina Gershon, Wallace Shawn, Elena Anaya, Louis Garrel, and Sergi Lopez. Europe seems to have had no problem with distributing the film, as it’s already opened in France, Portugal, Austria, Norway, Sweden Poland, Lithuania, Greece, Netherlands, Turkey, France, Czech Republic, Italy, Spain, and Mexico. However, the wokest countries in the world (the U.S, the U.K. and Germany) decided to abstain and boycott Allen’s latest. You see, Woody is still toxic to the woke tyrannicals in these countries. We have Signature Entertainment to thank for this release. On 09.03.20, I wrote a lengthy piece titled “The Case for Woody Allen’s Innocence,” it laid down the groundwork for why I believe the purge of Woody Allen in the industry has been nothing more than a smear campaign concocted by Ronan and Mia Farrow — not to mention an all-too-willing media taking their bait.
