A few months back, in a podcast appearance, Agustín Almodóvar, film producer and younger brother of Pedro, confirmed that his famous sibling was set to direct an adaptation of “A Manual for Cleaning Women,” starring Cate Blanchett:‘Manual’ is a collection of short stories and Pedro has, supposedly, managed to adapt five of them into one linear narrative. Almodovar created a single character out of the five stories with Cate Blanchett set to play her. As mentioned, this would be Almodóvar‘s first English feature-length film — during the pandemic he teamed up with Tilda Swindon for a short film titled “The Human Voice.” Blanchett is going to be very busy these next few years as she as already booked new films with such esteemed directors as Todd Field, James Gray, Alfonso Cuaron, Francis Ford Coppola and now the great Almodóvar.
