First things first, we already knew Bardo wasn’t going, but also missing are The Son, Women Talking, Bones & All, The Banshees of Inisherin, Empire of Light and The Whale. There are 10 films from Venice, including ”White Noise,” “All the Beauty and the Bloodshed,” ”Un Couple,” “The Eternal Daughter,” “Master Gardener,” “Saint Omer,” and “Tar.” Also, 16 from Cannes, including competition auteurs Skolimowski, Mungui, Serra, Reichardt, Gray, Park, Denis and Ostlund. Curiously, the sidebars are very well-represented with films like “Aftersun,” “Enys Men,” “De Humani Corporis Fabrica,” “One Fine Morning,” and “Scarlet.” As for Maria Schrader’s “She Said,” one would expect it to show up in NYFF’s Spotlight section later this month. That’s also where the big Toronto and Telluride titles might end up in. Overall, a solid looking lineup for New York. I’ve seen 14 of the films, 18 to go. Contribute Hire me
