The cause of this potential delay isn’t really known. We know that it had been reported that additional filming was set for late May in Oklahoma. We also know that Scorsese alongside his legendary editor Thelma Schoonmaker work like sloths in their post-production process. Let’s take a look at a little recent Scorsese/Schoonmaker history: “The Irishman” and “Silence” had about 18 months between their wraps dates and release dates. “The Wolf of Wall Street” finished filming in October of 2012 and was released at the end of December 2013, that’s close to 15 months. Originally, filming on “Killers of the Flower Moon” had wrapped on September 17th, 2021. The film’s screenwriter, Eric Roth, recently did an FYC interview for “Dune,” but also spoke at length about “Killers of the Flower Moon,” which he claimed was “being released in November” and that “Marty is well on his way to getting the editing done.” What happened?
