It was almost inevitable that a “Dune” sequel would happen. It grossed a total of $400 million worldwide, surpassing its $165 million budget. The film garnered critical acclaim and a slew of Oscar nominations, including one for Best Picture. For some reason, Villeneuve didn’t get a Best Director nod. Warner Bros. recently pushed the release date for Villeneuve’s sequel from Oct. 20, 2023 to Nov. 17, 2023. The original cast — Timothée Chalamet, Rebecca Ferguson, Zendaya, Javier Bardem and Josh Brolin — will all be back.
