It featured a menacing Chris Pine leading a collective called The Victory Project and Pugh trying to figure out what the hell is going on with her perfect life and ultra-secretive husband. In 2020, a studio bidding war occurred to nab Wilde’s film. It was finally sold to New Line. Wilde is coming off her critically acclaimed debut “Booksmart,” a film that was somewhat overpraised by critics upon its release but generated enough buzz for her to realize this dream project. The film is said to be a psychological thriller about a 1950s housewife whose reality begins to crack, revealing a disturbing realization that she is being suppressed.
