It was announced yesterday that “The Red Sky” will be coming in the “Spring of 2023.” That means an obvious bow at the Berlin Film Festival. Something tells me the Berlinale will have a more-that-decent lineup come early next year with new films from Petzold, Ozon, Sachs, Garrel, Techine and maybe Schanelec. A new synopsis has also arrived: Petzold is the acclaimed director behind “Phoenix,” “Transit” and “Barbara.” I don’t think he’s ever done Cannes before, at least not to my knowledge. He’s very much a Berlinale name and it wouldn’t surprise me one bit if “The Red Sky” world premieres at that festival next February. Contribute Hire me
